Yuccas

Color Guard Yucca

Super tough & drought tolerant! Add contrast & year-round color with this gorgeous variegated yucca hardy to zone 4! Forms a 2’ Tall and wide plant. Bright green leaves boast a vivid yellow central stripe that turns pink in cold weather! Each yucca produces a single flower spike in Summer reaching up to 4’ tall. Perfect for brightening up a shady patch in a low-water garden. Makes a stunning container specimen.

Bright Edge Yucca

This is the cousin to the color guard yucca with reversed coloring, yellow leaves with green centers. They do bloom as with most yuccas, after several years of establishing themselves in a garden or a pot.

Blue Boy Yucca

Rare with evergreen purplish leaves, this easy-to-grow, heat and drought tolerant Yucca delivers great tropical look gardens. A hybrid of Yucca that doesn’t exist in the wild. Hardy plant that thrives moist conditions with well draining soil.  It blooms Summer with white flowers. Great in containers. Does best in well-drained soil.

Dracaenas

A very popular plant having a tropical look with a lot of movement of the leaves with very little breeze.  They have a fast growth rate and can reach heights of 10 to 12 feet in 3 to 5 years.  They put out a flower from the upper stock that reminds me of baby's breath, like what you used to see in flower arrangements.

These plants come in a variety of colors and styles.  Green is the most common with reds becoming available in the last few years.

These plants are cold hardy into the upper teens and low twenties.  However, they rarely die in the cold temperatures.  The tops will die back but roots will live on and new shoots will appear either at the base or somewhere on the stalk.  For a low cost plant there is a lot of potential with Dracaena.

Dracaena, Cordylines and Spikes are all the same plant,  just known by regional and common names.
